Further to our client alert dated on 31st<\/sup> March 2020, the Intellectual Property Corporation of Malaysia (\u201cMyIPO<\/strong>\u201d) has issued a further directive pursuant to the extension of Movement Control Order (\u201cMCO<\/strong>\u201d) to 14th<\/sup> April 2020 by the Malaysian Government as follows:-<\/p>\n

  1. Manual filing of\u00a0trademark\u00a0applications which involve claiming of priority date falling within 18th<\/sup> March 2020 to 14th<\/sup> April 2020 will be extended to\u00a020th<\/sup> April 2020. Nonetheless, applicants are encouraged to file such applications by 15th<\/sup> April 2020 in accordance with Article 4(C)(3) of Paris Convention.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    1. Deadline for payment of annuity (if manual filing is required) for patents \/ utility innovations has been extended to\u00a030th<\/sup> April 2020.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      1. All other deadlines and procedure remains unchanged as per our client alert dated 31st<\/sup> March 2020.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
