Lam Ko Luen elected President of the Malaysian Institute of Arbitrators (MIArb) – 11th June, 2013

The firm congratulates Mr. Lam Ko Luen on being elected President of the Malaysian Institute of Arbitrators (MIArb) at its Annual General Meeting on 11th June 2013. Ko Luen will be serving as President for a 2 year term of 2013/2015.

What is MIArb?
MIArb is a non-profit and non-governmental organisation which was established in 1991. Its objectives are to promote the determination of disputes by arbitration and other forms of ADR such as mediation and adjudication. Over the years, it has built strong collaborative relationships with local & international ADR institutions, industry associations & centres of higher learning to raise awareness and expand the use of ADR methods. MIArb is also actively engaged in ADR law reform.

The members of MIArb consist mainly of professionals from different industries who are involved one way or another in alternative dispute resolutions. It has a panel list of arbitrators consisting of respected individuals with eminent qualifications & experience in a variety of professional disciplines from industries such as building and construction, engineering, banking, finance, law, insurance, service and manufacturing industries.
