Overview

Mehala Marimuthoo earned her LL.B. (Hons) from the University of London in 2000. She completed her Certificate of Legal Practice in 2002 and was admitted to the High Court of Malaya as an Advocate and Solicitor in 2003.

She joined the firm as an Associate in 2011 and became a Partner in 2016. Currently, Mehala leads the Labour & Industrial Dispute Department and the Competition & Anti-Trust Department.

Her primary areas of practice are employment and general litigation. Additionally, she practices in competition and anti-trust law, administrative law, and land reference. Mehala also conducts interactive workshops and talks on employment law issues, making complex topics accessible for her audience.

Mehala has represented both employees and employers in actions before the Industrial Court, as well as in civil suits before the High Court, Court of Appeal, and Federal Court. These actions have involved breaches of contracts, including employment and commercial contracts, breaches of fiduciary obligations, torts such as negligence and fraudulent misrepresentation, and breaches of professional duties.

Mehala has been ranked in both Legal 500 and Chambers Asia-Pacific for her expertise in employment and industrial relations.
