Overview

Sanjiv Naddan graduated from Cardiff University in 2015. He completed the Certificate in Legal Practice (CLP) in 2016 and commenced his pupillage at Messrs. Shook Lin & Bok in 2017. He was thereafter admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in 2018 and was appointed as an associate of the firm. He was promoted as a senior associate of the firm in January 2022 and appointed as a partner in January 2024.

He is a litigator with the Banking and Finance Litigation/Dispute Resolution department and has appeared at all levels of the Malaysian courts. He is also part of the Technology, Multimedia and Telecommunications department.

He handles a wide range of civil litigation matters. His experience includes debt recovery, banking and financial disputes, contractual/commercial disputes, shareholder disputes, land disputes and restructuring and insolvency.

He regularly acts for a range of major financial institutions in matters involving debt recovery actions, claims based on breach of trust, fraud, forgery, and negligence, as well as land disputes. He has also acted for companies in actions for minority oppression and other shareholder disputes.

Sanjiv has also co-authored books such as the Annotated Companies Act 2016 by Thomson Reuters and the Law and Practice on Injunctions in Malaysia by Sweet & Maxwell Asia.

Sanjiv is fluent in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
