Announcement of New Partner
We are delighted to announce Dhaniah Ahmad as the firm’s newest partner effective 1st March 2019.
Dhaniah has extensive knowledge and experience in Malaysia’s Competition Laws. She had served as an Administrative and Diplomatic officer in the Ministry of Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism and was part of the drafting team of the Competition Act 2010 and the Competition Commission Act 2010. Thereafter, she began her legal practice in the areas of corporate, intellectual property and competition law in one of the large law firms in Malaysia.
Her last post was with the Malaysia Competition Commission (MyCC) which she joined since it was first established. She held two important posts at MyCC namely, as the Head of Legal Unit as well as the Principal Assistant Director of the Enforcement Division. Dhaniah was notably instrumental in drafting the MyCC’s decision papers as well as policy advice. She was also a key member in developing the guidelines and publications on the application of Malaysia’s competition laws. As the Principal Assistant Director of the Enforcement Division, she was heavily involved in the cases and investigations handled by the MyCC.
